I recently had to purchase another one as my original suddenly stopped functioning properly but as I don't play excessively there was no need to spend over £20, especially as this comes with the adapter. The standard headset comes with the console and does what it's supposed to do so although there isn't any game sound there is still perfectly good chat volume so you can easily and clearly talk to your friends.
